Dry Cleaning

The gentle removal of contamination from the white areas of the comic book including interior pages, back and front cover. These generally include dirt and pencil marks. No water, peroxides or solvents of any kind are used.

Pressing

Pressing is a process that can enhance the appearance of a comic book by removing non-color breaking defects such as dents, bends, crunches, rippling, warping, spine rolls and indentations. It neither adds nor takes away from the comic, making it a non-restorative process that will not make a comic book “restored.”

*Restoration

There are 11 basic enhancements that qualify as restoration: color touch, piece fill, tear seals, spine split seals, reinforcement, piece re-attachment, cleaning with solvents, staple replacement, re-glossing, glue and trimming. These practices can negatively affect the grade of a comic. I will only perform restoration as directed by the customer.
